Amanda Batula Discusses Intimacy Struggles With Ex-Husband Kyle Cooke During Reunion
Amanda Batula says depression and emotional distance contributed to the breakdown of her marriage to Kyle Cooke during a recent appearance on the In the City reunion. The former couple revisited the difficulties that led to their separation, acknowledging that their issues began well before they parted ways.
According to the discussion, Amanda attributed her struggles with intimacy to depression. "Depression will do that," she said, noting that the issue started even before their wedding after they addressed it in therapy.
Amanda described a pattern where Kyle's demanding schedule left her feeling disconnected. "He would work all day, work all night, then come to bed, tell me an email, and then try to have sex with me."
She also expressed frustration about the lack of affection outside the bedroom. "There was no foreplay. There was no emotional intimacy. There was no conversation."
Kyle agreed that their marriage had become severely unhappy, pointing out that they'd had sex only three times in four years together. Amanda concurred with that assessment.
Host Andy Cohen asked whether Kyle accepted responsibility. Kyle replied, "Of course," before explaining that he organized every date, vacation, and getaway because he focused on building their future.
However, Amanda disagreed with his reasoning. She reminded him that his career consistently came first. "It takes a toll on our romantic and intimate relationship. Your solution was for me to read a book on how to date an entrepreneur, and I wanted you to take me on a date."
This candid exchange occurred months after the couple announced their split in January 2026. Amanda has since moved on, dating Summer House cast member West Wilson.
